Tom Bridgeland

Bio: Tom learnt his trade in Edinburgh before moving to Sheffield in 2004. He spent the years 2011 and 2012 as a Research Fellow at All Souls College, Oxford.
Andrea Brini

Bio: Andrea got his PhD at SISSA, Trieste in 2009 and spent time as a postdoc in Geneva and then Imperial College in 2009-12. He obtained a CNRS permanent research post based at Montpellier in 2013, and held visiting research positions at Imperial College (2016-18) and MSRI Berkeley (2018), following which he took up a senior lectureship in Birmingham in 2018. He joined this group at Sheffield as a senior lecturer in 2019.
Paul Johnson
Interests: Gromov-Witten theory, Orbifolds, Hilbert schemes, Partitions

Bio: Paul initially completed his undergraduate at the University of Chicago. Following this he obtained his master’s at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and PhD at the University of Michigan under Yongbin Ruan. He then held various postdoctoral positions at Princeton, Imperial College London and Columbia University. He was associate professor at Colorado State University for one year before moving to the University of Sheffield.
Cristina Manolache
Interests: Moduli spaces, Gromov-Witten theory

Bio: Cristina got her PhD at SISSA, Trieste and following this, she held postdoctoral positions at Humboldt Berlin and at Imperial College London. She came to the University of Sheffield as a senior lecturer in 2019.
Evgeny Shinder
Interests: Derived Categories of Coherent Sheaves, Grothendieck Group of Varieties

Bio: Evgeny defended his PhD at Northwestern University under Andrei Suslin. Afterwards he was a postdoc at the Max Planck Institute for Mathematics, University of Bonn, the Hausdorff Research Institute for Mathematics and the University of Mainz. In 2013-14 he was a Whittaker postdoc at the University of Edinburgh, before coming to Sheffield as a lecturer in 2014.

Anna Barbieri

Bio: Anna completed her undergraduate at University of Udine, Italy. She then undertook her PhD studies at the University of Pavia, Italy before moving to the University of Sheffield as a postdoc.
Kento Osuga
Interests: Topological Recursion, Airy Structures, Supersymmetry, Gromov-Witten Invariants

Bio: Kento completed his B.Sc at Shizuoka University in 2014 under Shogo Aoyama, and then moved to the University of Alberta for his Ph.D under Vincent Bouchard and Don N. Page. Afterwards, he was appointed as a temporal postdoctoral fellow at the same institution before moving to Sheffield.
Sven Meinhardt
Interests: Donaldson-Thomas Theory, Derived Algebraic Geometry, Mirror Symmetry, Mathematical Physics

Bio: Sven initially completed his diploma at the Humboldt University Berlin. He then moved to the University of Bonn for his PhD under Daniel Huybrechts as well as staying on as a postdoc. Following this he spent time at the Imperial College London and at the University of Oxford. It was here he came in contact with Donaldson-Thomas theory which is now his main research area. Afterwards he completed another postdoc at the University of Wuppertal before coming to Sheffield.

Bio: David obtained his master’s degree in physics at the University of Strasbourg, then in mathematics in Paris, before starting his PhD in Angers and Sheffield.

Bio: Karoline obtained an MPhys Mathematical Physics from University of Edinburgh, and then an MSc in pure mathematics at Imperial College London. Afterwards, she moved to Birmingham for her PhD studies from where she transferred to Sheffield.

Barbara Bolognese

Bio: Barbara completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Rome, then she obtained her PhD at Northeastern University. She held postdoctoral positions at the Fields Institute, Toronto, and Sheffield until November 2019. She is now a postdoc at Roma Tre, Italy.
Dylan Allegretti
Interests: Cluster Varieties and Cluster Algebras, Quantum Teichmuller Theory, Mathematical Aspects of Quantum Field Theory and String Theory
Bio: After three years of postdoc at the University of Sheffield, Dylan moved to MSRI, Berkeley, for a postdoc, in August 2019.
Rory Potter
Interests: Derived Categories, Non-Commutative Geometry, Quotient Stacks, Derived McKay Correspondence and Stability Conditions
Bio: Rory studied his MMath degree at the University of Warwick before doing his PhD at the University of Sheffield under the supervision of Tom Bridgeland.
Eoin Murphy
Interests: Hall Algebras, Quiver Representations
Bio: Eoin came to the University of Sheffield for his PhD, under the supervision of Tom Bridgeland. He defended his thesis on December 2018.
Joe Karmazyn

Bio: Joe studied his PhD in Edinburgh under the supervision of Michael Wemyss and Iain Gordon. He won a EPSRC post-doctoral fellowship, that he held at the University of Bath first and later at the University of Sheffield until June 2018.
